The yard at this Ryde home was uneven and lacked any structure. The ground dropped away at one end, the lawn was patchy, and the garden beds had no defined borders. The owners wanted the levels sorted out and the whole yard tidied up.
We built a concrete-style sleeper wall to retain the higher section and level out the usable yard space. Once the ground was graded and compacted, we laid new turf and added garden edging to separate the lawn from the beds. The yard now has clean lines and a flat, usable lawn area.

The problem we found, the work completed, and how the job turned out.
The yard was uneven, patchy, and lacked structure, with a drop at one end and garden beds that had no clear boundary.
The higher ground needed retaining before the lawn could be made more usable New turf needed a graded and compacted base The beds needed edging so the finished yard stayed defined
Install a concrete-style sleeper wall, Grade and compact the yard, Lay new turf, Install garden edging, Finish the retained lawn and bed areas. Set the wall line to retain the higher section Build the sleeper wall and stabilise the edge Grade and compact the lawn base Lay turf and install garden edging to separate beds from lawn
The yard now has a more usable lawn area, cleaner levels, retained edges, and a sharper separation between turf and garden beds. The lawn needs establishment care, and the retained edge should be checked after heavy rain while the ground settles around the new structure.
