This Forestville yard needed new turf to replace patchy grass, and the owner wanted a small garden bed that would look neat without much upkeep. The plan was to keep things simple and low-maintenance.
We laid fresh turf across the lawn area and built a small garden bed finished with white pebbles and a feature plant in the centre. The pebble bed does not need mowing or mulching, and the contrast with the green turf gives the yard a clean, finished look.

The problem we found, the work completed, and how the job turned out.
The yard needed new turf and a simple garden bed finish that would sharpen the space without adding a lot of ongoing maintenance.
The garden bed needed a low-maintenance finish The new lawn and pebble bed had to read as one tidy area The planting needed to suit a restrained, easy-care layout
Prepare the lawn area, Lay fresh turf, Create a small garden bed, Install a feature plant, Finish the bed with white pebbles. Prepare the lawn and bed areas so the finishes met cleanly Lay new turf across the lawn area Build the compact garden bed and position the feature plant Finish the bed with white pebbles for a cleaner low-upkeep surface
The yard now has a fresh lawn and a neat pebble garden bed that gives the space a cleaner finish without creating a high-maintenance planting area. The turf needs standard establishment care, while the pebble bed should be kept clear of leaf build-up so the clean contrast remains visible.
