This Willoughby backyard had synthetic grass over a failed base, and water was pooling because the ground was not falling in the right direction. The owner wanted the artificial turf removed and replaced with real grass, but the drainage and levels had to be corrected first so the new lawn would not sit wet after rain.
We stripped out the synthetic grass, removed and replaced the underlay, then reworked the base so the lawn area drained away from the old pooling point. Once the ground was levelled and graded properly, we laid Sir Walter grass to give the yard a softer, cooler, and more natural lawn surface.

The site issue, the work completed, and the outcome visible in the project photos
The backyard had synthetic grass over a failed base, with pooling water and levels that would have undermined a new natural lawn if they were not corrected first.
Failed synthetic turf and underlay had to be removed before the lawn base could be assessed Drainage falls needed correction before Sir Walter grass was installed The finished lawn had to sit level enough for normal family use and mowing
Scope: Remove synthetic grass, Replace failed underlay, Regrade and level the lawn base, Correct drainage falls, Install Sir Walter grass, Clean up and hand over turf establishment advice. Sequence: Strip out the synthetic grass and inspect the failed base Remove and replace underlay where the old surface had broken down Set the falls so water moved away from the previous pooling point Level and prepare the surface before laying Sir Walter grass
The yard now has a cooler natural lawn with corrected falls, a better prepared base, and a surface that is easier to use after rain. The new turf needs careful watering during establishment, limited traffic while roots knit in, and a normal mowing routine once it is holding.
